Dominika Kowynia, 1978, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice (Chair of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture under the tutorial guidance of Professor Jacek Rykała). She gained master's degree in 2003. Since then she's been a lecturer at the Academy in Katowice. In 1996, during International Peace Summit, she was awarded the First Prize and Grand Prix at the Spontaneous Painting contest "The Rainbow". In 2004 she became a finalist at the contest "Debut of the Year: The Tolerance". She was granted a scholarship by Sosnowiec City Hall. Her medium of choice is oil on canvas.
